A local, family-owned real estate office in Bend has gone international – The Garner Group Real Estate has become the very first franchise in the Pacific Northwest for Harcourts International.

The renowned real estate company, Harcourts, which was founded in 1888 in New Zealand, has offices in nine countries around the world and is currently headquartered in Australia.

The Garner Group Real Estate has changed its branding and logo to reflect its new name: Harcourts The Garner Group Real Estate.

Sandy Garner, owner of The Garner Group Real Estate who has 35 years of experience in the Central Oregon real estate industry, said, “When Harcourts approached us about entering into an agreement, we quickly found that our company cultures and values fit together well. While fitting in with our goals of putting people first, Harcourts also provides the industry-leading technological expertise and training programs we needed. I’ve known the people at Harcourts for 20 years and putting our trust in them was a logical step as we continue to grow our office.”

Harcourts International is a global real estate company that has been identified as one of the top five real estate brands in the world by Stefan Swanepoel, author of the annual Swanepoel Trends Report. The company represents approximately 800 offices in New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, Fiji, China, South Africa and the United States.

The company’s foray into the Pacific Northwest with its new location in Central Oregon will help to set up for future growth in the region. Rick DeLuca, a Bend resident, who is a nationally known real estate sales trainer, lecturer and author, is spearheading an effort to recruit qualified agencies in the Pacific Northwest through the Harcourts USA branch of the company. DeLuca said, “By aligning Harcourts with Sandy’s company we have found the perfect match of culture and values. The Garner Group will serve as a model for future offices as we continue to spread our record of success throughout the Pacific Northwest.”

Still locally owned and independently operated by the Garner family, Harcourts The Garner Group Real Estate’s move to become a franchisee greatly increases the firm’s ability to serve current and future clients, including home buyers moving from other localities. The new co-brand indicates broadened reach and reinforces the firm’s foundation as one of Bend’s leading real estate companies. The company’s Bend, Oregon office represents three generations of the Garner family, and currently is home to more than 28 employees and agents. Garner continued, “By affiliating with an international company we can bring a fresh approach to real estate sales and marketing. We are all looking forward to what the future will bring.”
