In support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Bend Memorial Clinic has partnered with local florists to reinforce the importance of
regular mammograms.
During the month of October, every woman scheduled for a digital mammogram will receive flowers donated by All Occasion Flowers, Autry’s, Donner Flower Shop, Fred Meyer and Wildflowers of Oregon.
Every three minutes a woman in the United States is diagnosed with breast cancer. Although breast cancer is a real threat, there are many ways to prevent and treat this disease. In fact, 96 percent of women who find and treat breast cancer early will be cancer-free after five years.
Bend Memorial Clinic offers a TotalCare approach to preventing and treating breast cancer through a collaboration of Providers representing Family Medicine, Imaging, Surgery, and Oncology.
To schedule a digital mammogram or an annual exam, call the Bend Memorial Clinic appointment center at

541 Threads Makes a Stand Against Cancer
Local clothing company, 541 Threads is all about “changing the world one shirt at a time.” Currently 541 Threads donates four meals to Neighborimpact’s food bank for every shirt it sells. Since the first of this year they have donated over $4,000 to help provide nearly 15,000 meals to
Central Oregonians in need.
541 Threads is taking things a step further by introducing a special edition “eff cancer” t-shirt to take stand against cancer and bring awareness to the deadly disease that has taken many lives. $5 from each shirt sale will be directly donated to Jen Burgess Thompson, a Redmond photographer, who is currently battling stage three ovarian cancer. 541 Threads hopes to create a movement to stand up against cancer and make a statement for anyone who has battled or is battling cancer.
