Dr. Ryan Reese, national certified counselor and approved clinical supervisor, recently moved to Bend to take a core faculty position with OSU-Cascades in the masters of science in Counseling program.
As a co-developer and researcher of EcoWellness, the experience of wellness through nature, Dr. Reese has also established his own innovative private counseling practice. His practice, EcoWellness Counseling & Consulting LLC, provides those weary of traditional indoor counseling with an alternative: meeting in and around Bend’s abundant trail and park systems.
His expertise in nature research and theory has helped him in developing a unique approach to helping others while infusing his novel approach with traditional counseling techniques, such as cognitive behavioral and post-modern approaches.
He specializes in working with those who feel sad, lonely, angry, have experienced a recent loss or life transition and those who seek to find meaning and purpose in the midst of busy lives. He possesses a passion for working with children and adolescents who experience difficult emotions, thoughts, behaviors, or youth who find it hard to connect with others.
Dr. Reese has found his approach helpful for those who are creative, learn best through doing, and those who may have had previous unsatisfactory experiences in counseling.
