March 2014 marks a special milestone for Heart ‘n Home Hospice & Palliative Care which is celebrating its tenth anniversary.
Looking back, the reality of a home-like, local hospice based on the rural values of hard work and integrity was simply just a dream by three, very determined visionaries. Owner/CEO Cindy Lee, Owner/Senior Vice President of Human Resource Kris Stice and Owner/Senior Vice President of Finance Todd Stice recognized the need for additional end-of-life resources with the ability for people to remain close to the community and life they knew before their illness.
Keeping their vision clear, they remained dedicated to their dream, making it a reality in March 2004 when they opened the doors of Heart ‘n Home Hospice & Palliative Care, LLC in Fruitland, Idaho. Today, they have seven additional branches in Idaho and Oregon, including one in Bend, and over 175 employees total.
As Heart ‘n Home celebrates 10 years of affirming lives, the partners say they have many reasons to celebrate. “We celebrate a community that embraced and supported the vision of a hospice that provides legendary care. We celebrate staff whose compassion for patients and their families, as well as their team, is praiseworthy. We celebrate our volunteers who selflessly give day in and day out; using their talents, skills, and love to affirm the lives of many. We celebrate caregivers, for their strength and loyalty to patients. Last, but surely not least, we celebrate the bravest of them all … our patients. We are so grateful to serve each of them. We look forward to affirming lives … every day, every time with you for many years to come!”
