Dutch Bros. Coffee partnered with Redmond-based Straw Propeller Gourmet Foods, the makers of the all-natural, gourmet oatmeal in a cup, which will now be available at all Dutch Bros. coffee stands throughout Central Oregon including locations in Bend, Redmond and Sisters.

Dutch Bros. Coffee will serve up the 12 oz, portable Straw Propeller Oatmeal in a cup to its customers, retailing for $3 each, and available in the following flavors: Wholly Oats, PB&J, Apple Crisp and Blueberry Blitz.

Straw Propeller, the two-year old, woman-owned and operated company, incorporates distinctive flavors into its Oatmeal and Muesli with ingredients like curry, cherry, chia and peanut butter chips to please any palate – from breakfast purists to those who like to push culinary boundaries.

“Dutch Bros. is one of the largest and most successful coffee chains in Oregon, and we are thrilled to be associated with such a great brand,” said Patricia Bartelson, the owner of Straw Propeller Gourmet Foods. “It is a natural fit as we are both based in Oregon and are expanding rapidly across the country.”

Every quarter the company donates 10 percent of its after tax profits to organizations throughout Central Oregon that provide assistance to area residents.

“Dutch Bros. is proud to partner with a local company that emulates our platform for giving back to the community,” said Bill Smith, the co-owner of Dutch Bros. Coffee locations in Bend, Redmond and Sisters. “It’s so much more than just a good cup of coffee or a cup of gourmet oatmeal.”

Straw Propeller Gourmet Foods began in 2011 when Tony and Patricia Bartelson and their two boys decided to share their homemade oatmeal recipes with the world. As an active family on the go and with food allergies to deal with, oatmeal had always been a staple in their house. They loved creating new flavors to take camping, hiking and to soccer games or wherever their next adventure led them. Tony started his manufacturing career in the cereal industry, and Patricia is a registered nurse. Together they combined their work experience and creative food style to bring this innovative, gourmet oatmeal to the marketplace. Straw Propeller Gourmet Foods uses fresh, real food ingredients combining them to give you anything but typical, predictable flavors.

Dutch Bros. Coffee is the country’s largest privately held, drive-thru coffee company, with 214 locations and 2,000 employees in seven states. Dutch Bros. serves specialty coffee, smoothies, freezes, teas and its private-label, flavor-infused Dutch Bros. Blue Rebel energy drink.

Dutch Bros. Coffee locations in Bend, Redmond and Sisters are locally owned and operated by Bill and Carol Smith. Dutch Bros. Central Oregon supports various local causes, including Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Oregon, Healthy Beginnings, NeighborImpact, the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the local chapter of American Cancer Society.
