Skate Habit, located at 11 NW Lava Rd. in Bend, recently held a grand opening party hosted by Boneyard beer. Owner Nick Brown said the shop is a core skate shop i.e. skate only no wakeboards, snowboards, longboards nothing but pure skate.
“My partner Reed Youngbar and myself have a combined 12 years experience in the skate industry,” said Brown. “I have worked in retail skate/snow shops since I was 16 and just recently quit working as a rep for a couple company’s in the industry. We decided that Bend needed a core skate shop again after Pure Skate Shop went out of business.
“So one day not too long ago we decided to go for it, we are doing this for the love of skateboarding not with the delusion that we are going to get rich. We are just a couple guys with a little dream that we made happen, and we are here to stay. We want to keep it very small and support our local skate scene, along with other northwest companies.”
