RCP Foods, an independently-owned, plant-based food and beverage company, is celebrating National Milk Alternative Month with the upcoming launch of Cheri’s HazelCream, an enhanced line of nutritious, great-tasting plant milks made from hazelnuts, vanilla flavoring and a proprietary process that deliver a complementary blend of nine essential amino acids. The product provides all the equivalent proteins of dairy milk plus complete omega-3, -6 and -9 along with vitamins and minerals, all in a creamy oat base. It is available in June via their website for direct to consumer pre-sale of the product.

Cheri’s HazelCream delivers something that the current non-dairy market is lacking. It provides an excellent one-to-one milk alternative for cooking that actually tasted good and holds up in recipes without being too watery or making the cake go flat. This low-sugar, low carb cream has 40 percent less calories than dairy milk and it captures the rising tide of consumers eager to explore the alternative milk phenomenon.

“We’re excited to introduce a versatile, delicious hazelnut milk that outperforms traditional dairy milk in both baking and in flavor,” said Cheri Redgrave, founder and CEO. “Cheri’s HazelCream is a true game changer for our industry and marks one of the first times we’ve seen a plant milk formulated with this level of nutrient-rich ingredients. Targeted especially for those who are choosing a dairy free lifestyle, this now allows us to meet the demands of a previously untapped consumer segment — one whose primary barrier has been concern for nutrition or food allergens.”

The launch comes at a time when consumers are looking to add delicious milk alternatives to their plate. Between 2000 and 2019, per capita consumption of dairy milk has declined nearly 29 percent. And more people than ever are experimenting with plant-centric diets, prioritizing health and wellness goals while reducing their impact on the planet. A Nielsen survey found that nearly 40 percent of Americans are trying to eat more plant-based foods.

“We created a healthier alternative for cow’s milk by leveraging diverse, plant-based ingredients such as locally sourced, Oregon Hazelnuts, and our proprietary roasting method, to design our great-tasting product,” said Chris Redgrave, co-founder RCP Foods. “It delivers quality products, healthier fats and it behaves more like a milk product in recipes and its flavor compares to that of dairy milk.”
