How to make your business shine when everything goes dark.
Oregon Innovative Marketing (OIM), a Bend-based group recently formed to invite conversations, help establish connections and host special events for the dynamic Central Oregon marketing community, has organized an eye-opening event focused around the impending solar eclipse.
Smarketing for the Eclipse, a panel discussion featuring several local experts involved in broadcast, print, online and social media, will be held Thursday, August 10 from 5-7pm at Wille Hall in the Coats Campus Center at COCC.
Discussion topics will revolve around last-minute marketing opportunities that will captivate the masses of visitors who will be searching for:
· food and drink
· camping equipment
· solar glasses and souvenirs
· fun family activities
· car and RV repairs
· real estate investments
· you name it.
The panel includes Michele O’Hara – marketing & creative services manager at Zolo Media, Dena DeRose – advertising director for the Bend Bulletin, Bud Torcom – CEO and co-founder of Mazama Media, Eric Jordan – sales manager at KTVZ/KFXO and Sheryl Meisner – account executive at Combined Communications.
Each panelist will provide affordable and achievable last-minute options for reaching consumers as they tune in and link in for news, weather and traffic, then share their unforgettable solar experiences on social media. Strategies will extend beyond imparting day-of-the-eclipse tactics into advice on how to retain customers and ride this once-in-a-lifetime economic tsunami into ongoing waves of success. Expert Media Buyer Lisa Canady, principle of Eclipse Marketing (appropriately enough), will moderate the discussion.
Marketers, innovators, local business leaders and entrepreneurs – anyone who is interested in innovative marketing – are encouraged to attend. The event will begin at 5pm with networking, appetizers provided by Baldy’s Barbecue, and a no-host bar with beer, wine and a special Eclipse cocktail provided by Twist Cocktail Catering Co. The panel discussion will begin at 5:30pm and offer ample time for questions from the audience.
Not to be confused with the Bend Chamber of Commerce What’s Brewing Eclipse event on August 8, attendees who show their Bend Chamber event ticket at the door will receive a complimentary drink ticket at the OIM event.
Admission is $15 in advance, $20 at the door, and free for Students with an ID. Don’t be left in the dark. Register today at http://oimeclipse.eventbrite.com/
OIM appreciates the generous support of the event’s sponsors: Summit Bank, Central Oregon Community College, Baldy’s Barbecue, Eclipse Marketing, Mazama Media, Wordplay Creative Copy and GB2 Agency.
OIM was conceived in 2017 by a group of curious and enthusiastic Central Oregon marketers who yearn for connection with peers, friends and colleagues in the industry.
