The Oregon Outdoor Alliance recently received a $4000 grant through U.S. Bank’s Community Possible Grant Program.

The Oregon Outdoor Alliance (OOA) is a non-profit, member organization that supports and seeks to grow a vibrant, prosperous outdoor industry in Oregon. Through this grant, OOA can build capacity, grow regional chapters throughout the state, and help provide networking and educational events to outdoor industry individuals and businesses. OOA is an all-volunteer organization based in Bend, Oregon.

As part of the effort to support the outdoor industry in Oregon, OOA recently co-hosted with Bend Outdoor Worx, a one-day series of workshops for outdoor start-ups to learn key strategies about starting and running a business. OOA also hosts regular networking events to gather outdoor industry professionals together to support and grow the industry.

The U.S. Bank Foundation’s Community Possible Grant “Work Pillar” helps invest in the workforce by funding organizations that provide training for small business development, as well as programs that support individuals across all skill and experience levels.

Wendy McGrane, U.S. Bank Vice President and Commercial Banking Team Leader for Central and Easter Oregon said, “Our local region of U.S. Bank is pleased to support the Oregon Outdoor Alliance through a Community Possible Work Cycle Grant, which is intended to support small business technical assistance programs. Our grants committee comprised of local U.S. Bank employees here in the region was particularly impressed that OOA has helped outdoor industry companies in the Central Oregon grow employment by 35% since its formation in 2015.   As OOA is now expanding across the state to provide networking opportunities, educational programming, and trade-show support as requested by its members of Oregon outdoor companies, we look forward to hearing more about its results in 2019 and beyond.”

U.S. Bank is also a generous sponsor for OOA, providing ongoing support to the organization.  “U.S. Bank’s support, both through this grant, and their ongoing sponsorship helps OOA cultivate a strong outdoor industry in Oregon,” adds Katy Bryce, OOA Board Member.

Oregon Outdoor Alliance (OOA) was formed in 2014 by a group of passionate outdoor industry veterans in Bend, Oregon, and is expanding to all regions in Oregon. Our mission is to unify and inspire our outdoor community, support our members through events, resources and advocacy, and champion a vibrant and growing outdoor industry in Oregon. OOA hosts regular networking and educational events to support outdoor industry professionals in Oregon.
