3rd Street Beverage welcomes the public on Saturday, June 1 from 3-7pm to celebrate its grand opening in the parking lot outside of the store near the corner of Third and NE Hawthorne. The festivities will include live music from The Sleepless Truckers from 4-6pm, New York City Sub food truck, beer, wine and spirits tastings, giveaways and more.

3rd Street Beverage is a collaboration between Mark Merrick, a ‘spirits guru’ who brings a wealth of knowledge about the liquor industry, and Betsy and JD Weedman, who bring decades of experience in beverage marketing and distribution and an extensive knowledge of craft beer to the enterprise. While the business has had the doors open since December 20, 2018, the owners decided to hold off on a grand opening party until Bend’s weather warmed up.

“This is our town,” says co-owner Betsy Weedman. “It’s where I grew up and where I learned the industry. Bend is a town that appreciates a cold beverage — especially beer — and it’s the perfect place for a store with the variety we provide. We’re excited to show off this amazing business we’ve created, and we can’t wait to party with everyone.”

With the largest bottle selection in Bend, a well-informed and helpful staff and an inviting atmosphere, 3rd Street Beverage provides Bend residents with an enhanced adult beverage buying experience. Featured products, in-store tastings, special events and staff picks are just part of what makes 3rd Street worth a visit. Finding varieties of beer, wine and liquor you can’t find anywhere else in town is another.

“We’re a one-stop shop,” says Betsy. “We have all the ingredients and recipes for that perfect cocktail. And we’re always happy to provide you with tips that will take your cocktail hour to the next level.”

Oregon has long been known for producing fantastic wine and beer, and, lately, locally-produced liquor is getting similar recognition. The staff of 3rd Street Beverage takes pride in stocking and giving exposure to local beer, wine and liquor — and knowing what to recommend to meet your beverage needs and palate. Their ‘local spotlight’ highlights Oregon companies who create great products.
