Please Remember A Smile for Kids in your Giving Tuesday Support

0

Since 2004, A Smile for Kids (ASK) has helped over 850 Oregon youths by providing equitable access to orthodontic care to improve their self-confidence, health, and resilience.

Because the Oregon Health Plan (OHP) does not cover braces for under-served kids with a severe need, you can imagine how that affects the majority of kids who have severely crooked teeth which impede their eating, sleeping, breathing and speaking.

64 awesome orthodontists partner with ASK to make dreams come true for Oregon youths.

How ASK Impacts Your Community

With a grade requirement of a “C” or above and a partnership with Oregon schools, ASK program recipients have a greater chance to graduate from High School and move on to higher education.

ASK requires all kids to volunteer monthly in their community in order to improve their life and work skills, leading to improved job and educational opportunities.

Why ASK Needs Your Help

Braces, oral surgery, and extractions are expensive and keeping each child on track for a positive outcome takes a lot of resources, therefore, as a private nonprofit organization, ASK relies heavily on support from individual donors.

Testimony from a Dad This Week

“ASK was an amazing opportunity for my teenage daughter. She came in unsure of herself with little to no self-esteem and no desire to let the world see her beautiful smile. Shortly after her arrival into the ASK program, wearing a sparkly metal smile, she began to blossom into a very confident young lady. She has reshaped her self-image and is comfortable with laughing and smiling and that makes me very happy. We appreciate all the hard work and effort from everyone involved in the program. Thanks ASK.”
