Bend-La Pine Schools’ Attendance Area Review Committee invites interested community members to offer input about three potential middle and high school attendance area maps during six upcoming open house-style meetings. Proposed changes would not take effect until the 2021-22 school year. Remaining meetings are set for the following dates:
Thursday, December 5 from 4:30 to 6:30pm
High Desert Middle School
Pacific Crest Middle School
Monday, December 9 from 4:30 to 6:30pm
Three Rivers School
At the drop-in style events, community members will be able to review three potential map scenarios, speak with committee members and provide feedback about the options. Community members will also be able to share input through an online survey, which will be open through Friday, December 13 on the district’s Attendance Area Review webpage.
New attendance areas will define the attendance area for Bend-La Pine Schools’ new high school in southeast Bend opening in fall of 2021 and redraw attendance areas throughout the district to balance enrollment and prevent overcrowding at area middle and high schools.
The committee will consider comments and survey results while drafting their recommendation.
The committee is expected to make its final recommendation to the superintendent in spring of 2020.
