JoHanna Symons, Co-Founder
JoHanna Symons, raised on a cattle ranch in Madras, and her husband Jeremy, established Symons Livestock LLC by purchasing 300 acres of farmland and a 4,500-head feedyard in 2007. With no prior feedlot experience and initial losses, they took charge of every aspect of the operation while raising their children. Through hard work and perseverance, they stabilized their business and expanded by acquiring an additional 800 acres in 2013 to produce their own cattle feed, which proved crucial for long-term success.
In 2016, the Symons faced significant challenges when their irrigation was cut off for environmental reasons, prompting them to found Perfect Balance USA, a nonprofit advocating for sustainable agriculture and education. As they aim to expand their feedyard, their vision includes creating a vertically integrated beef operation to deliver locally raised, quality beef to Central Oregon. The establishment of a state-of-the-art harvest and processing facility is the final step toward realizing this goal.
