Recreational Cannabis Sales Begin Today…Did Oregon Find a Pot of Gold?

0

This is a historic day for Oregon; it’s expected that legal recreational cannabis flower sales will be a boost to the Oregon economy in a variety of ways… just like finding a pot of gold. Some of the gold will be in the form of taxes that will help to fund state and local programs, schools and much more. This new recreational cannabis industry will increase tourism, build new businesses and create new jobs.

These are not just expectations given that taxes generated from recreational cannabis sales in Colorado have already set records.

Several medical marijuana dispensaries have opened in Bend, a list can be found below. Check with them about what they sell and hours.

“The legalization and taxation of cannabis sales in Oregon is setting-up to be a very good thing for the state,” said William Simpson, president and founder of Chalice Farms, LLC, who operates a vertically integrated production and distribution business that includes three dispensaries around Oregon, with more in the works.

Chalice Farms is owned and operated by three Oregon residents with the majority equity held by cannabis authority, Simpson. He has been in the industry for over a decade and concurrently owns The Green Future, a successful garden supply, equipment and consulting company serving the northwest from its location in Wilsonville, Oregon.

Chalice Farms was one of Oregon’s first state-licensed medical dispensaries, dba the Powell House Cannabis Club, which is supplied by their wholly owned state-of-the-art cannabis production centers. The genesis of Chalice Farms and The Green Future was William’s passion, which began with a green thumb for hot-pepper farming, and then led to his interest in growing the highest quality cannabis for patients with an Oregon medical card.

Simpson is one of the founders of the Oregon Cannabis Political Action Committee (PAC), the originator of the Oregon Grower’s Association and founding sponsor of the Cannabis Creative Conference held in Oregon in July and is one of 15 Oregonians chosen to be on the Oregon Liquor Control Commission (OLCC) Rules Advisory Committee. “I am looking forward to helping Oregon become a model State and, just as importantly, contribute to creating a model industry,” said Simpson.
