REDI Calls for Thrive Award Nominations

Redmond Economic Development, Inc. (REDI) is calling for nominations for its annual Thrive Award. Launched in 2021, the Thrive Award aims to recognize and reward significant initiatives, programs, projects, or partnerships that have successfully implemented and noticeably transformed the landscape, further supporting economic development in the Redmond Community.

REDI seeks to publicly acknowledge individuals, partnerships, or organizations that contribute to building the community through collaborations that support economic development—hence, the Thrive Award.

Criteria for the award include:

  • Economic Impact: Implementation of benefits such as job creation, tax base expansion, education enhancements, workforce development, childcare, business assistance programs, or foundational projects that enable future economic development
  • Community Impact: Spin-off impact of the project, including any community domino effects, planned or unplanned — a ripple effect.
  • Innovation and Originality: Creativity in aspects such as land packaging, acquisitions, strategic partnerships, joint venture aspects, and financing.
  • Achievement and Results: Achievement of its stated objectives with measurable
  • Community Relationships: Development of strong relationships with relevant and widespread community support.
  • Relevance and Transferability: Elements that can be applied to other

Last year’s winner was the Redmond Executive Association’s (REA) Annual Crab Crack. For over seven years, REA has hosted this annual all-you-can-eat Dungeness crab feast. This signature fundraising event brought the community together to enjoy 3,200 pounds of fresh crab, live music, and neighborhood fun. All proceeds from the annual event support local high school and college youth workforce programs, pairing students with local businesses to provide hands-on, real-life experience crucial for success.
