A bill to allow Redmond the ability to add 485 affordable housing units under a state pilot project is scheduled to receive a hearing and work session in the Senate Committee on Housing on April 1, State Representative Jack Zika, a chief cosponsor of the bill (House Bill 2336), announced.

“Redmond badly needs more affordable housing, and this bill will help,” Zika said. “I look forward to the Senate hearing and markup, and want to thank Senator Tim Knopp for his assistance in moving the bill through the Senate.”

The House previously passed HB 2336 unanimously. If the Senate committee approves the bill, it will go to the Senate floor for final passage, and then to the Governor for her signature.
