Over 20 Community Organizations Free to the Public

The Redmond Proficiency Academy will host a Community Resource Fair on Thursday, March 9. The fair is open to the public and will feature free community resources at the RPA middle school campus, 150 SW 25th Avenue, in Redmond from 5-8pm.

“The Resource Fair is a great way for community members to access multiple support services,” said Resource Coordinator Hillary Kirk. “This event is open to the public and will provide many resources including a free dinner.”

The Community Resource Fair will include free dental screenings courtesy of the COCC dental program and the Medical Teams International Dental Van, free family portraits by Eric Parnell and Benjamin Edwards, free vision screenings courtesy of the Central Oregon Lions Club, free winter clothing (first come, first serve) and access to over 20 other community organizations. RPA will host a free dinner from Cascade Catering Company from 7-8pm.

Community experts will be available to provide information on communicating with teens, parent support programs, medical organizations and the effects of concussions.

“We want everyone who attends to have an amazing time and leave with things they like and need, complimentary family photos, a nice dinner, and connections with support services,” said Kirk.

There will be over 20 different community organizations represented at the resource fair, ready to offer information. Some of these include NeighborImpact, Goodwill job Connection, Cascade Youth and Family, Latino Community Association, Volunteers in Medicine, Healthy Families of the High Desert, Head Start, Beulah’s Place, New Priorities Family Services, Hospice, WIC, Mosaic Medical, Saving Grace, Kids Center, Family Resource Center and Deschutes Public Library.
The event will have on-site Spanish speaking translators for anyone who may need language assistance. There will be a craft table where kids can play while parents visit with community organizations.

“I am so honored to be a part of this ongoing community event,” said Kirk. “We continue to see connections made and support given to all who attend the fair and we are just excited to be able to host the Resource Fair again this year.”
