Redmond Proficiency Academy announce the inaugural live event of its kind, an evening of inspiration produced by and for teenagers at the Tower Theatre in Bend on Saturday, June 6, 6pm. The live event Limitless began in a small classroom at Redmond Proficiency Academy. The goal, or challenge, was to create a legitimate business run by, for and of teens.
“We created a company and named it ‘Caged Inspiration’ to convey the idea of empowerment regardless of circumstance,” said RPA student-owner Faith Story. “The event we are organizing through our student-run business is called ‘Limitless’ because our goal is to have an impact that cannot be contained.”
Limitless features a variety of world-class speakers and performers. Scheduled to appear MOsley WOtta, Wyatt Carrell, Brandy Berlin, Brown Eyed Blue, Reality Goose, Evan Sarafian, Samantha Hebner, Cheyenne Doescher and Jon Bullock. Carrell and Bullock recently performed at TEDxBend and received rave reviews for their presentations.
Limitless has been called where “TEDx meets Teens.” RPA students are familiar with TED Talks, as one is featured each week in the Student Union on the RPA Downtown Campus. Student producers have been meeting three times each week for the entire 2014-15 school year.
Ken Streater, RPA advisor said, “It is an honor to be involved with this event as a witness to the passion, power, and talent of teenagers. Limitless promises to showcase this generation as one that will lead us right from here on out.”
Attendees may laugh, cry, be filled with gumption, and lifted by hope. We are confident everyone will leave feeling that they too can make a difference in their community, having been motivated by our presenters to care more, do more and be more.
