The Redmond Proficiency Academy will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for its new middle school on Thursday, September 1 at 10am. The new middle school is located at 150 SW 25th Street in Redmond. The public is invited.
The ribbon-cutting will be the first opportunity for the public to see the completed school building. The event will feature opening ceremonies, as well as performances by students and self guided tours of the new building.
BBT Architects of Bend designed the new middle school and Griffin Construction of Prineville is the general contractor on the project. The project broke ground in early December 2015. The new 24,032 square foot school will open to 290 students in grades six through eight on Tuesday, September 6. This is the first facility built and owned by RPA.
The building features 11 learning spaces dedicated to Humanities and STEAM. The multi-purpose room features a rock wall and doors that expand the learning environment to the outdoor patio. Additionally, the new space includes a choir and band room along with a Resource Room for small group instruction.
