RootedHomes has announced that it is expanding its communities beyond Bend and will now have homes throughout Central Oregon. Rooted in Redmond is a 23-home community located at 345 NW 19th Street in Redmond. The community will include new construction of two- and three-bedroom duplexes, triplexes, and quadplexes and the preservation of a single-family four-bedroom, 100+-year-old farmhouse. In partnership with The Environmental Center, the community will include a large community garden that will be used by homeowners and as outdoor classroom for Redmond public school students. The community is in planning, and the homebuyer lottery will tentatively open in late 2024. Rooted in Redmond will be designed by Open Concept with support from Lord Consulting, S+F Surveyors, Blackmore Planning, Wallace Group, GreenSavers, and Evergreen Consulting Group.

“As Central Oregon’s Community Land Trust, RootedHomes’ expansion to Redmond was the clear next step for our nonprofit,” shared Jackie Keogh, executive director at RootedHomes. “RootedHomes is committed to geographic equity, so reaching homebuyers in their current communities aligns with our community-first engagement strategies.”

RootedHomes is engaging local residents in the planning of this community. Feedback on both the site plan and home designs will impact on the final community design. The resident-driven design survey is now open through September 11 using the following link: forms.gle/hxHdZM3J5EcGMoLq5.  Paper surveys are also available at the following locations: RootedHomes, 150 NE Hawthorne Ave., Bend; Latino Community Association, 636 NW Cedar Ave., Redmond or 2680 NE Twin Knolls Dr., Ste. 110, Bend and HousingWorks,  405 SW Sixth St. Redmond.
