Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic School is proudly celebrating our 85th year in Bend.

Our doors opened on September 21, 1936. Led by the Sisters of the Holy Names, St. Francis of Assisi School opened with a dream of educating children in a Christ-centered community valuing service, leadership and academic excellence. Eighty-five years later, St. Francis continues to celebrate its Catholic heritage with high academic standards and a focus on nurturing the whole child.

Our students, non-Catholic and Catholic alike, attended Mass yesterday morning for the memorial of our patron, Saint Francis of Assisi. We united in prayer with the church across the world for the protection of the Earth. Mass was followed by a cupcake and fruit party provided by our pastor, Father Jose Mudakodiyil, for the whole school.

Our annual Drive for the Animals started yesterday and runs through October 15. The students have been asked to do extra chores to earn money for dog and cat food, toys, kitty litter and donations for animals in need.
