Sparking Conversations Around Energy Efficiency – Go Electric!

0

Ready for a more comfortable home (and lower energy bills)?

If you’ve ever wondered how to make your home more comfortable, lower your energy bills, or take advantage of local programs but weren’t sure where to start, you’re not alone.

The City of Bend is hosting a series of free workshops called Go Electric!. The goal is simple: help people better understand their options when it comes to energy efficiency and electrification and connect them with real resources in the community.

These sessions are designed to be straightforward and approachable. No technical background needed, and no expectation that you already know anything about electrification.

Go Electric! Information

What these workshops are about:

A lot of people have heard the term “electrification,” but aren’t sure what it actually means, whether it applies to them, or if it’s even realistic.

These workshops walk through:

  • What electrification is, in practical terms
  • How it relates to comfort, indoor air quality, and energy costs
  • What kinds of upgrades or changes might make sense in different situations
  • What local programs, incentives, and support are currently available

The focus is on helping people leave with a clearer understanding of what’s possible, and where to go next if they’re interested.

Upcoming Go Electric! Workshops

Weatherization for Income-Qualified Households

This session focuses on ways to make homes more efficient and comfortable through weatherization (think insulation, sealing air leaks, and other improvements that can reduce energy use). It will also cover programs that help income‑qualified households access these upgrades at low or no cost, along with guidance on how to apply. Food provided for in-person attendance!

Energy use in our homes affects both monthly costs and overall comfort. It also plays a role in community-wide emissions. At the same time, the available programs, incentives, and technologies can be difficult to navigate. These workshops are meant to make that landscape easier to understand and more accessible.

You don’t need to be planning a big project or ready to make a decision to attend. These sessions are simply an opportunity to learn what’s out there and ask questions.
