Leading Across the Generations

Five generations are present in today’s workplace, Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Generation Xers, Millennials and Generation Z. Generation Alpha is also approaching working age, with its oldest members beginning to take part-time and entry-level jobs. Five to six different generations in the workplace brings a wide range of experiences, career stages, communication habits and expectations. So many different generations interacting can also bring conflict and communication challenges. What does this mean for supervisors and team leaders?

This seminar will provide an overview of the different generations represented in today’s workplace. Participants will explore strategies for effective leadership, communication and team facilitation. The class will also examine stereotypes that can interfere with successful communication.
