Vacasa, the second-largest U.S. vacation rental company, released new data on the best places to own a vacation rental in the Pacific Northwest based on ROI. According to the results, Sunriver is the eleventh most lucrative market for vacation rental owners, with an average ROI of 29 percent.
Four other Oregon markets made the list, all of which are located on the Oregon coast — Tillamook, Seaside, Pacific City, and Rockaway Beach. Five Washington markets and one California also complete the list, which was compiled using internal and external data.
“Sunriver appeals to vacation rental investors as a year-round destination with fairly high occupancy rates and lucrative rate returns,” says Joe Frey, senior director of sales and analytics at Vacasa. “The distance from Portland makes a great drive-to market, increasing last minute bookings. From families to couples of all ages, Sunriver appeals to a variety of demographics and is a great place to own a vacation home.”
Founded in Portland, Oregon in 2009, Vacasa currently employs 68 people in the Bend area. Last year, Vacasa acquired Discover Sunriver, one of the vacation rental industry’s most respected management companies, from owners Larry and Lori Browning. The deal added 111 units to Vacasa’s Sunriver portfolio, making it the largest vacation rental management service in Sunriver. Today, Vacasa manages 204 listings in Sunriver and 307 in Central Oregon.
Vacasa provides homeowners with some of the best returns in the industry, due to its proprietary marketing and pricing technologies. A central team of 300+ engineers, marketers and analysts optimize the booking process for each home in its portfolio, while local teams clean and maintain them. The result is a consistent experience for guests, and competitive results for homeowners.
