All Proceeds from Special Pilates Class to Benefit The Giving Plate
Bend Pilates will host a donation-only Mat Class on Thanksgiving morning from 10 to 11am with all proceeds benefiting The Giving Plate. This fundraising event allows participants to choose how much they would like to donate for the class and then enjoy a restorative and energizing Pilates workout taught by Bend Pilates Owner Debby Mandeville-Bowen.
Additionally, a collection basket is available for donations at Bend Pilates.
“We are excited to offer our second annual Thanksgiving Day donation class,” said Mandeville-Bowen. “We had such great support from our participants last year who appreciated the opportunity to come together on a holiday morning to put good energy into our community.”
The Giving Plate is a Bend-based non-profit with the mission of serving the hungry and the homeless in Deschutes County. Since opening its doors in 2010 during the economic recession, The Giving Plate has worked to meet an overwhelming demand to provide food for families in need.
“We hope to fill our studio on Thanksgiving morning with people eager to help The Giving Plate this holiday season,” said Mandeville-Bowen. “This is a class for people of all abilities, and is a great way to enjoy the camaraderie of group exercise without previous Pilates experience.”
The Thanksgiving Day Donation Mat Class will be offered on Thursday, November 26, from 10 to 11am at Bend Pilates. The studio offers both equipment and mat classes, in group and private settings, and its certified instructors are qualified to teach classical exercises, or modify them as needed for individual clients. Bend Pilates offers a free 15-minute session for people who are interested in trying the method. Bend Pilates is located at 155 SW Century Drive in Bend.
