The base is built, chairlifts are spinning and programs are underway for the 2023 ski season! Starting this weekend, OAS will be fully operational at THREE mountains, Mt Bachelor, Hoodoo and Mt Ashland! With your support, accessibility to the mountains is underway.

Programs continue to ramp up with the return of our favorite events (see below) and hundreds of ski days on the schedule between now and the end of March. None of this would be possible without the amazing and continued support of our community, especially the World’s Greatest Volunteers, who since November have participated in over 1,000 hours of training!

If you’re still considering planning some time on the hill with OAS, we encourage you to reach out soon! We already have many lessons booked through the end of our season and several days are already at capacity.

Rippers Program

January 29, February 26 and March 26 @ Mt Bachelor
Are you an advanced adaptive skier with the ability to ride any terrain in any conditions? Come out and join us for the monthly Ripper Program facilitated by OAS Education and Training Manager, Melodie Buell. The group will tackle whatever the mountain has to offer that day in an environment that encourages peer-to-peer learning and growth. Contact Melodie at melodie@oregonadaptivesports.org for more information or sign up through our Rippers Form!

Heroes XVI

The 16th OAS Heroes event is back this weekend at Mt Bachelor! Thanks to support from Move United and the Department of Veterans Affairs, OAS will be welcoming eight Veterans to Central Oregon for a weekend of skill-building on snow and community-building off the hill. This year’s event is at capacity!

Community Giving

We started 2023 with so much love and support from this community! Over 150 people donated at the end of the year surpassing our expectations and 87% of these donations were $250 or less. This is evidence of what we can accomplish when we come together to support inclusion in the outdoors for people with disabilities. We are especially thankful to Dave Nichols and Ken Kumji for sharing their story. Thank you!

Additionally, last Friday Dutch Bros donated $1 per cup sold to OAS bringing in a wave of $17,330! Whether it was getting your coffee fix, contributing a gift during the year-end, volunteering or spreading the love – our deepest gratitude to all for choosing to support OAS! As you know, OAS programming services are year-round and your support sustains the programs available for people with disabilities. We hope you’ll continue supporting us at some of our upcoming events!

Sixth Annual Ski For All

The 6th annual Ski For All is coming up on March 18th at Mt Bachelor! Registration will go live next week, save the date, start planning your costume and get ready for your best day of the season all while raising funds to support OAS!

Community Pints @ Deschutes

Every Tuesday in February is Community Pints at Deschutes Brewery benefitting OAS! Deschutes will donate $1 for every pint sold on Tuesdays in February at the Downtown Pub and Brewery Tasting Room. Thank you Deschutes!
