Join the fun on Sunday, January 24 for the 5th Annual Tour for the Heart presented by Bend Memorial Clinic Cardiology. The Tour for the Heart is a fun 5km XC ski or snowshoe event held to raise awareness for women’s heart health.

“Heart disease is commonly thought of as a man’s disease, but it is actually the leading killer of women in this country,” said Dr. Rick Koch, BMC Cardiologist. “It is important for women to learn their heart disease risk factors and the warning signs of a heart attack in addition to making lifestyle choices, like physical activity, to stay heart healthy.”

Tour for the Heart covers a beautiful, mostly flat route and is suitable for participants of all ages and abilities.

Online advance registration is strongly preferred and will remain open until noon on Saturday, January 23. You can register online at www.tourfortheheart.org. Day of event registration will be from 9:30am-10:59am at the Tour event tent located outside Mt. Bachelor Nordic Center.

The Tour begins promptly at 11:00am, however given this is a fun Tour, you actually can start whenever you like. $25 Registration includes a trail pass for the upper Mt. Bachelor Nordic trail system with special grooming for the Tour course. There will be treats, food and drinks along the way and at the finish; prizes for best costumes and a raffle for group entries.
All net proceeds from the Tour go to the American Heart Association for women’s heart disease, education and research.
