Today, the University of Oregon officially launches The Ballmer Institute for Children’s Behavioral Health, a bold new approach to addressing the behavioral and mental health care needs of Oregon’s children. The Portland-based institute is made possible by a lead gift of more than $425 million from Connie and Steve Ballmer, co-founders of Ballmer Group Philanthropy.
UO President Michael H. Schill, Provost Patrick Phillips, Acting Executive Director of the institute Randy Kamphaus, Portland Public Schools Superintendent Guadalupe Guerrero, Vice President of Advancement Mike Andreasen and researchers celebrated this historic launch today at noon in the Giustina Ballroom in the Ford Alumni Center at the University of Oregon in Eugene.
