Vantage Clinical Solutions Celebrates First Year of PT Pub Night with National Event

A professional networking movement specific to physical therapists and championed by Vantage Clinical Solutions in Bend will mark its first year of success with a national event in Chicago. PT Pub Night, established in 2013 to help facilitate relationships to improve the physical therapy (PT) profession, will host its first National PT Pub Night on Friday-Sunday, August 8-10.

The event is a culmination of a year during which PT Pub Night events expanded into more than 120 cities in 40 U.S. states and seven foreign countries.

“It’s incredible to consider how many people related to the physical therapy profession have connected over the past year thanks to PT Pub Night,” said Tannus Quatre, founder and CEO of Vantage Clinical Solutions and a licensed physical therapist. “The quickness at which this spread speaks to the basic, underlying desire of PTs to meet, connect and have conversations, and that bodes well for the future of our profession.”

PT Pub Night was born as simply an effort to connect physical therapists, assistants and PT students through casual community gatherings at local brew pubs. The concept began in Oregon, but the idea spread quickly thanks almost exclusively to a savvy social media campaign implemented by the marketing team at Vantage Clinical Solutions. It spread first across Oregon, then across the country, and finally outside the U.S. borders in Canada, Japan, Nigeria and five European countries.

And while the “happy hour” aspect of PT Pub Night is certainly a draw, Quatre says it’s about more than the beer. The true power of PT Pub Night is in its ability to get like-minded professionals around a common table, he said.

“Its function is to serve us – the physical therapy profession – by providing a connecting venue through which we develop real relationships with those around us, both locally and through the larger PT Pub Night community,” he said. “Such relationships are catalysts for innovation, problem solving and progress.”

Such relationships were also the catalyst for National PT Pub Night, a concept initially brought to the attention of Vantage Clinical Solutions by Sarah Haag, a physical therapist and PT Pub Night site leader in Chicago. As Haag worked with Quatre to plan the event, the Vantage Clinical Solutions marketing team went to work to promote it.

True to PT Pub Night’s tradition of keeping events casual, fun and engaging, the weekend’s agenda includes going out for Chicago-style pizza, attending a Cubs game, and exploring downtown Chicago on a trolley pub tour.

“So many physical therapists are used to attending conferences with workshops, seminars and meetings. This weekend is different,” Quatre said. “It’s about building relationships – building a community. That’s so important for the long-term strength of any profession.” Learn more about PT Pub Night, including National PT Pub Night, at www.ptpubnight.com.
