Washington Trust Bank Launches Ad Campaign Featuring New Home Run Officer: Seattle Catcher Cal Raleigh

Washington Trust Bank, the largest privately held full-service bank in the Northwest, is launching an ad campaign featuring its newest high-performing team member: catcher and switch-hitter Cal Raleigh as their Home Run Officer. Slated to run throughout the bank’s three-state footprint of Washington, Oregon and Idaho, the Home Run Officer campaign underscores the bank’s commitment to teamwork and to serving clients with nothing less than 110% effort in every interaction.

“Cal Raleigh has demonstrated time and again that he is the person you want to have on your side,” said Kevin Blair, president of Washington Trust Bank. “His work ethic, team spirit and dedication to digging deep to find a way to win is how we at Washington Trust show up every day for our clients and communities. We’re proud to have Cal’s partnership in spreading the word as we continue to build our presence in the region.”

Washington Trust signed the Seattle baseball player to a three-year partnership last October, an exclusive within the banking industry. The spring ad campaign marks the first appearance of Raleigh in one of the bank’s activations and the first such campaign featuring a professional athlete for the bank in its 124-year history. Reminiscent of The Office, commercial spots feature branch employees adjusting to working with the reigning home run champion and learning how his baseball skills translate to banking.

“Teaming up with Cal was a natural choice for Washington Trust — after all, he shares the same enduring commitment to the Northwest and to building relationships that produce winning results,” said Ingrid Campbell, director of marketing for Washington Trust Bank. “We look forward to featuring Cal in more events and activations as our partnership continues.”

The Home Run Officer campaign, created by Boise-based marketing and advertising  agency Duft Watterson, will air in all markets where Washington Trust operates, and it will be supported across multiple channels, including radio and social. Duft Watterson partnered with Los Angeles production company, Sasquatch & Co., to produce the commercial spots.
