Senator Chris Telfer (R) of Bend received a perfect score on her latest legislative report card from a state-wide business and industry coalition, the Oregon Prosperity Project.

Telfer was awarded 100% for the 2011/2012 session based on her voting record for legislation considered vital to creating jobs for Oregonians and growing the state’s economy.  Telfer also received a perfect score for her efforts in the 2009/2010 sessions, making her the only member of the Senate to score 100 percent since she was elected.

The list of legislation included creating a tax credit for business investment in low income areas, extending the research and development credit until 2018, re-connecting to the federal tax code for key business tax incentives, expanding Enterprise Zones, and securing transportation funding.

“My opponent (Tim Knopp of Bend) has claimed that I haven’t done enough to create jobs and support businesses and clearly Oregon businesses don’t agree”, says Telfer of her challenger in the Republican Primary.  “I’ve been extremely successful in bringing thousands of jobs, millions of dollars and endless opportunities for economic development to Central Oregon and the rest of the state.  And I’m just getting started.”

The Oregon Prosperity Project is a coalition of businesses and industries advocating for issues that will lead Oregon to greater prosperity. The members of the coalition include Associated Oregon Industries, the Oregon Business Council, the Association of Oregon Loggers, Portland Business Alliance, Jeld-Wen, Weyerhaeuser, and several Chambers of Commerce from around the state.
