Naseco, a family-owned Oregon real estate developer and retail property owner, has leased 4,056 square feet to Goody’s, longtime Bend chocolate and ice cream company, at Scandia Square at the intersection of SW Reed Market and Division Street in Bend.
“We are delighted to work with Dane and Jvon Danforth of Goody’s,” said Steve Nase of Naseco. “With their wonderful ice cream and candy products, the Goody’s factory and retail store will be a terrific addition to our current mix of tenants at Scandia Square.”
The space to be occupied by Goody’s is the former Fireside and Patio store. In 1988 Naseco remodeled the building after the former owner, Sweeney’s Workensports, moved to a new location. Ultimately the space will be expanded to approximately 6,000 square feet and will accommodate a warehouse, office, retail shop and larger kitchen for Goody’s.
The family-owned candy company will open its new factory June 1 to provide more room for making chocolates, candies and ice cream, as well as additional retail space and tours for visitors. Existing Goody’s retail sites in Bend, Sunriver, Redmond and Boise, Idaho will continue operating in their current locations.
“The factory we operate now in southeast Bend is about 1,000 square feet, so this is six times the space,” explained owner of Goody’s, Jvon Danforth. “It will allow us to transform our facility from a place where candy and ice cream are made, into an appealing tourist attraction where visitors can see the entire process from start to finish.”
CA Rowles Engineer of Bend was contracted by Naseco to expand and refurbish the existing building and complete a full tenant improvement plan to convert the old spa business into the new retail and manufacturing facility.

The new Goody’s factory will offer guided tours, which will show a real working factory where Goody’s staff cook over 100 different sweet treats, including gourmet chocolates, caramel corn, fudge, peanut brittle, toffee, and Goody’s famous ice cream. Samples of ice cream, gourmet chocolate, and candy will be included in the tour. Special exhibits, new retail space, and an education center will allow visitors to journey through history to get the complete story behind these tasty treats.
