Soul Community Planet (SCP) today announced the newly renovated New Redmond Hotel will reopen December 6 as the SCP Redmond. The 41,000-square-foot property features 49 rooms and suites, coworking, The Rooftop garden and conservatory and a fitness center, along with a number of other food and beverage venues, including the Provisions Market. Room reservations with special introductory rates starting at $125 per night are now being offered for a limited time.

“The vision of Soul Community Planet is to make the world around us a better place by serving those who value personal wellness, social good and the environment. We’re pleased to bring this concept to Redmond – a community that clearly embodies the values of Soul Community Planet,” said Soul Community Planet Co-Founder and CEO Ken Cruse. “After a comprehensive two-year, $7 million renovation, we’ve modernized and upgraded the entire facility. Our hope is that the new SCP Redmond will serve as a welcoming hub for people to experience the beauty and adventure of Central Oregon, cultivate new relationships and embrace life.”

SCP Redmond is the latest addition to the company’s hotel portfolio. The property, designed by Kelly Ogden of Portland-based ELK Collective, is located at the epicenter of Redmond’s downtown renaissance. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, SCP Redmond’s renovation was made possible through a public-private partnership between the city of Redmond and the developer. The renovation preserved the property’s historic character while merging its classical design with elements of SCP’s trademark mindful, eco-friendly style. In keeping with SCP’s environmental ethos, the renovation also included extensive use of sustainable and regionally sourced materials. The new layout incorporates a range of spaces conducive to work, relaxation, fitness and socialization.

Memberships Available at SCP Redmond

Month-to-month SCP memberships are available at SCP Redmond for local business owners, entrepreneurs and individuals who are looking for a home base for their business, starting at $100 per month. Through the SCP membership program, members will have access to SCP Redmond’s full range of coworking facilities and services, spaces for meetings as well as fitness and wellness programming, all of which are housed within SCP’s vibrant, eco-friendly environment. Additionally, members will have access to special events and wellness retreats at Salishan Resort, located on the Central Oregon coast.

SCP Redmond Unveils Peaceful Rooms with New Property

SCP Redmond also will include 14 “peaceful rooms,” which have been mindfully designed for guests’ relaxation and focus. Peaceful rooms provide an environment free of the usual distractions (TVs, clocks and radios) and will include added amenities to enhance guests’ peace and clarity, including yoga mat, meditation pillow, sound machine and a selection of essential oils and calming teas. In addition to SCP Redmond’s 49 hotel rooms and suites, the four-story building blends lodging, eating, drinking, shopping, working and socializing, all in a venue with historical and local flavor.

Other property features include:

  • SCP Commons creative coworking space, which includes unique meeting spaces
  • Flexible fitness incorporating Peloton bikes, on-demand yoga and TRX equipment
  • Provisions Market offering healthy, fresh and locally sourced food choices in collaboration with Mother’s Market
  • The Rooftop social garden restaurant/bar, which opened in August as the only rooftop experience in Redmond with breathtaking views of The Cascade Range. Its hours of operation will be expanded with the SCP Redmond opening.
  • The Studio space for social events

“Leisure and business travelers, along with members of the Redmond community who are seeking a different experience, will find it at SCP Redmond,” said the newly appointed SCP Redmond General Manager Tobias Colvin. “SCP Redmond promises to be a welcoming center of activity. Whatever journey you’re on, the SCP Redmond has all the features and amenities to make your sojourn unique and special.”

Guests wishing to book adventure excursions with a local tour company or guide can do so at SCP Redmond.

SCP’s trademark Fair Trade Pricing Program and “One Tree: One Forest” will be available for guests who book stays at SCP Redmond. With Fair Trade Pricing, each guest determines the price guests pay at checkout based on the quality of their experience. And, through the One Tree: One Forest program, SCP will donate the estimated cost to plant a tree to One Tree Planted every time a guest stays overnight in one of the SCP Hotels.

The SCP Redmond is also home to Oishi Japanese Restaurant, the Red Martini Kitchen & Cocktails, AK’s Tea Room and Alycia White Photography Studio, all of which have been tenants for several years.

Guests can make reservations through the hotel’s website, as well as by phone at (541) 615-8001.
