Did you know that in June you can race bikes whenever you want in Bend thanks to 10 Barrel Brewing’s Riding Solo series? There’s perks for just participating and prizes for those that shred, and most importantly — bragging rights.
10 Barrel Brewing built and ran the first Riding Solo series when we all really needed it last fall as a safe way to get out, blow it out, be a part of a community and win some free stuff. Now we don’t necessarily need it because we can’t see each other, but those that raced last fall want it again and we want to share it.
10 Barrel even built a special RidingSolo.me website that has all the info on the why, what and how to race. The just of it is that you get to race on live courses, against all the local honchos… as many times as you want, for $25 a week/course.
Participation perks include, unlocking free beers at the 10 Barrel Bend Pub and coffee at Thump by simply riding the race courses, and prizes (over $30,000 value!! both for placing and raffle) that include gear from a whole host of rad companies.
Of course, like most things 10 Barrel Brewing does, there’s a give-back component; in this case, five percent of proceeds go to four nonprofit organizations that are so important to Bend (and Oregon’s) collective community: The Central Oregon Trail Alliance, The National Interscholastic Cycling Association, Mount Bachelor Sports Education Association and the ADL Software Association.
The racing started at the beginning of June and runs till the end of this week, July 3. Also, 10 Barrel will be running a fall Riding Solo series this year as well and we’ll be in touch about that series in late August.
