HR professionals looking to earn one of the industry’s most recognized credentials can prepare for the SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP exams through an upcoming online certification prep course running this fall.
The course covers the full Society for Human Resource Management framework, including HR strategy, talent management, employee engagement, workplace culture and employment law. Designed for experienced HR professionals, the program prepares participants to demonstrate their expertise by pursuing either the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) designation.
The course will be led by Erika McCalpine, SHRM-SCP, associate dean for career technical education and workforce development at Lawson State Community College in Birmingham, Alabama. McCalpine previously served as chief equity officer for the Oregon Department of Transportation and as faculty at Oregon State University-Cascades and the University of Alabama.
Classes will be held via Zoom on Mondays and Wednesdays from October 7 through December 9, from 5:30-7:30pm. There will be no classes November 11 or November 25. Tuition is $1,415 for SHRM members and $1,765 for non-members, with printed course materials mailed to participants in advance.
