Faces of Farming Event in Bend, Oregon Celebrates Local Food & Farmers

Local not-for-profit Central Oregon Locavore will host an all day local foodie event, The Faces of Farming: Honoring Past, Present, and Future, promoting local farmers, delicious food, and sustainable living on Saturday June 13.

Faces of Farming Gala
Join us for an evening of artful and delicious surprise from 6pm to 9pm at 10Below in the Oxford Hotel, designed to honor the dedicated people who grow and raise our food. The evening includes a photographic narrative, original artwork, a silent auction, local wine, beer, and specialty cocktails, as well as an extensive menu created by The Oxford’s Executive Chef Ingrid Rohrer-Downer showcasing the bounty of local farms and ranches.

Faces of Farming Family Fun Day
Children and their parents are invited to tour around Central Oregon to visit farms and learn about local food. Tours begin at Fields Farm in midtown, head to Juniper Jungle Farm in east Bend, and conclude at Worthy Brewing. Activities available at each location include planting seedlings, learning about bees and making beeswax candles. Lunch available courtesy of El Sancho. Progressive farm tour start times at 12pm, 1pm and 2pm. Worthy garden tours available at 4pm, 5pm and 6pm.

Faces of Farming Hydroponic Tours
Join Next Season Farm and Tender Greens Hydroculture Farm to learn firsthand about our region’s newest farming method. Complete the journey by touring Worthy Gardens at Worthy Brewing. Progressive farm start times at 12pm, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm. Worthy garden tours available at 4pm, 5pm and 6pm.
