LWV of Deschutes County recent activities:
The League of Women Voters of Deschutes County were out in force over the weekend registering voters, announcing the upcoming candidate forums and providing general voter information including mailing and deadline dates. Fliers regarding how to vote if you’ve been displaced due to fires were also available. Booths were open 10am-2pm with volunteers at the Northwest Crossing Farmers Market and Bend, Redmond and Sisters libraries. Sunday found them at the Sisters Farmers Market. This effort will continue on weekends at all venues into early October.
Ten voters were registered at the Northwest Crossing Farmers Market. Several library-goers registered as well. Many registration forms were distributed along with links for checking on individual status of registration, the location of ballot drop boxes and how to see the contents of the upcoming ballot for Deschutes County online.
The crowds were thankful for the opportunity and information. Many people complimented the LWVDC volunteers on their efforts. And, some showed interest in joining the LWVDC to be of help and stay informed in the future.
