He started—a tousle-haired kid about a buck and a quarter soaking wet—as a stock boy at the local general store. The best word to describe Isaac would have been “indispensible.” My great-grandpa, Doc, told me about the focus and determination in his eyes.
Isaac knew a secret: employers are looking for people they can count on to work hard and get the job done with a smile, so he made sure he was that guy. He filled his duties and went above and beyond so consistently, that he became indispensible. He went on in time to become a leading executive in the grocery industry.
