Settles served as the director of electronic commerce for Metricom, which marketed Ricochet wireless Internet access service, the precursor to today’s municipal wireless networks. He currently counsels organizations on how to use broadband technologies to improve operating efficiency and kickstart economic development. He has been a broadband expert source for CNN, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and Time Magazine.
