Mark Hoffman, CTP will present updates on the travel industry October 28 at the Phoenix Inn.

Don’t miss this opportunity to hear updates on the travel industry, as seen through the eyes of a 34‐year tour operator veteran and chair of NTA (National Tour Association), the leading business‐building association for professionals serving customers traveling to, from and within North America.

Elected in 2013 for the second time, his first term in 2000, Hoffman’s mission is to be a strong and vocal advocate for all aspects of the tourism industry, and working to raise public awareness about the value of tourism, especially among elected officials.

His goal is to educate travel professionals and consumers that NTA is the industry leader in the packaged travel industry.Additionally, Hoffman is president and founder of Sports Leisure Vacations, Sacramento’s largest and oldest packaged tour and travel company. The 33 year‐old company has an active client base grounded in a 8,000‐plusmember Travel Club.

He orchestrates the company’s many escorted tours, marketing efforts and community involvement. He holds the designation of Certified Tour Professional.

Topics of discussion include:

• The changing needs of different demographics of travelers and how hospitality service people can identify the needs of each demographic.

• How the tour operator business is not always arriving in a bus, and how groups are getting smaller in size; why that is a good thing for travelers.

• Tips on working closer with tour operators to increase your business and the quality of the relationship.

• The markets that National Tour Association (NTA) serves and the benefits of NTA membership.
