The Central Oregon Intergovernmental Council (COIC) announced yesterday the appointment of a new Executive Director Andrew Spreadborough.
“The COIC Board believes that Andrew is the best fit for our long‐term interests for the organization,” said COIC Board Chair and Jefferson County Commissioner John Hatfield. “Andrew brings a distinguished record of leadership and on‐the‐ground accomplishments, and is well‐suited to work with our local governments and partner organizations to expand COIC’s role in our region.”Andrew Spreadborough has been employed by COIC since 1998 and has served in a variety of positions throughout his tenure.
Most recently, Spreadborough served as COIC’s Community and Economic Development Manager. In this role, Spreadborough guided COIC’s efforts to strengthen the regional economy through supporting local governments in their efforts to create the conditions for economic development, and through the convening of regional committees, work groups, and planning efforts.“I am honored that the Board has selected me to serve in this role,” said Spreadborough.
“COIC is uniquely positioned to address regional‐scale issues and challenges, and to support our cities and counties as they work to improve our economy and provide high quality, low cost services for ourbusinesses and residents. I am excited about our opportunities, and look forward to leading the organization now and into the future.
”COIC is a public organization that provides employment and training services, operates the Cascades East Transit system, and provides regional community and economic development services. COIC provides a means for city and county jurisdiction members to come together, to jointly identify issues and needs which are regional in scope, to achieve agreement for cooperative actions, and to implement projects and services at a regional scale.
The COIC Board is composed of elected officials from each of the three Central Oregon counties and eight cities, along with a representative from the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs and appointed business representatives. www.coic2.org/
