The Network of Entrepreneurial Women is being completely re-branded, from its name to its newly minted website. Why? Well for starters, the name was no longer correct since less than one third of the members are actually entrepreneurs. Too many women weren’t even considering joining—or attending the organization’s functions—because they don’t consider themselves entrepreneurs.
The new name—ConnectW—and tagline—Creating Community through Women in Business—identify this group of women perfectly. Not only do the 100 female members network amongst themselves, they reach into the community as well:
• A Speaker’s Bureau offers local organizations free public speaking services of participating ConnectW members. If you need a speaker for an upcoming event, there will be absolutely no fee if less than one hour is required.
• The non-profit organization’s Winter Wonderland Gala raised more than $8,500 for Oregon Adaptive Sports in December. That’s a total of some $20,000 raised for local non-profit organizations in just three years.
• This spring, ConnectW will also be hosting a brand new Women’s Business Expo at the Riverhouse Convention Center. At what will most assuredly be the largest women’s party in Central Oregon, you can set up a booth for just $150 ($125 for ConnectW members), attend a workshop or just come to shop and mingle.
That’s just the start. As a member of ConnectW, you’ll be part of an active community offering a dynamic roster of its own monthly events. Special interest pods offer even more opportunities for like-minded members to share passions and pastimes. And since ConnectW is non-exclusive, you can brainstorm and network with members who do what you do in your very own field.
Of course, a new look had to be created to go with ConnectW’s new name—one that would more accurately depict the vibrant spirit of this non-profit organization that has been helping connect and empower women in Central Oregon since 1986. Web designer and member Elise Jones of West Hills Design was tapped to craft the new logo and website. Both reflect the organization’s renewed sense of energy and purpose.
