Last year Bend voters approved a $30 million bond measure to fund local road improvements throughout the community. The Transportation General Obligation bond program kicks into high gear this month as construction begins on the first of three roundabout projects to be completed in 2012.
To mark the occasion, the City of Bend held a groundbreaking ceremony at the intersection of Simpson Ave. and Mt. Washington Dr. City officials talked about the transportation bond program accomplishments and representatives of the first local company under contract, Jack Robinson & Sons, were on hand.
