PET PAWLOOZA in Bend, Oregon Presented by BrightSide Animal Center & Bend Pet Express

The first annual Pet Pawlooza festival celebrating the bond between people and their pets will be Saturday, June 13 from 9am to 3pm at Riverbend Park in Bend. It’s pet-friendly, family-friendly and free.

The event features demonstrations by Bend Agility Action Dogs and the Deschutes County Sheriff’s K-9 patrol, contests for people and pets, great prizes, vendors of pet-related products and services, Ask a Veterinarian information booth, a bounce house, live music, food vendors and a beer garden.

The festival kicks off with the Dog Gone Run 5K fun run/walk at 9am that begins and ends in Riverbend Park and follows a loop course through the Old Mill District. Participants must comply with the posted pet rules for the event. Registration fee $35 after June 1 and $40 day-of-race includes race T-shirt and a cool bandana for your pet. Day-of-race registration is from 7am-8:45am at Riverbend Park.

The Pet Pawlooza Walk-a-thon, a fundraiser benefitting BrightSide, begins at 9:30am. Leashed pets are welcome and participants can register as individuals ($20) or as teams (at a discounted rate). The walk-a-thon also begins and ends at Riverbend Park and follows a 1.3 mile course through the Old Mill District. The same pet rules apply. Registration fees starting at $20 include T-shirt.

Register at FootZone in downtown Bend on Sunday, May 3 from 12-4pm and get $5 off the registration fee.

Walk-a-thon register online at http://brightsideanimals.dojiggy.com. Day-of-race registration will be 8-9:15am at Riverbend Park.

For both the Dog Gone Run and Pet Pawlooza, packet pick-up will be held on Friday, June 12, 12-6pm at the east side Bend Pet Express, 420 NE Windy Knolls Dr., Bend, OR.

The festival is sponsored by Bend Pet Express, Ruffwear, Brookswood Animal Clinic, Dancin’ Woofs Training and Daycare, and McKernan Enterprises.
