Sister companies Latitude 44 Sports and Stand On Liquid are relocating to the Century Center on the west side of Bend. The new space will house experiential retail for both companies, and will open on Saturday, December 21. Stand On Liquid is a well-known standup paddleboard (SUP) retailer and distributor based in Bend, and Latitude 44 Sports buys and consigns high-quality new and used winter sports gear from both Bend locals and major sporting brands.
“We are thrilled about our new location,” said Pat Widmer, co-owner of Stand On Liquid and Latitude 44 Sports. “It’s a great building and has a cooperative vibe with cool neighbors like GoodLife Brewing, the Volcanic Theatre Pub and Backporch Coffee. In addition to our exceptional location, our new shop will allow us to expand our inventory of SUP boards and accessories as well as all types of winter recreational gear including skis, snowboards, boots and accessories.”
The new shop, located at 1375 NW Commerce Avenue in the Century Center, will provide outdoor enthusiasts with a convenient location for gear shopping near similar retailers as well as recreation destinations in Central Oregon.
“Century Drive is the gateway to Mt. Bachelor, the Deschutes River and our amazing Cascade Lakes,” said Rob McDonald, co-owner of both brands. “Our new name, Latitude 44 Sports, directly couples our retail experience with this beautiful place where we work and play.
Connecting sellers with buyers — and buyers with great gear — will continue to be our focus.” The relocation of both businesses has provided an opportunity for McDonald and Widmer to bring the well-established Stand On Liquid brand under the scope of a broader outdoor gear experience with Latitude 44 Sports.
“We established Latitude 44 Sports as a sister company last fall,” explained McDonald. “We have been amazed at the growth we’ve experienced this past year with both brands, and felt it was time to evolve by bringing them together.”
