Redmond-based Straw Propeller is rapidly expanding to keep up with the demand for its gourmet cereal products. On May 1 Straw Propeller will move its entire production facility to its new world headquarters also located in Redmond. The new manufacturing facility is approximately 40,000 square feet and hosts many new employees and a state of the art automated production line to expedite product movement.
Straw Propeller is a woman-owned and operated company that manufactures gourmet food products all made with 100 percent natural, non-GMO, gluten-free and kosher certified ingredients. Founded in 2011, explosive growth prompted a relocation from the owner’s kitchen to worldwide distribution center that caters to small cafes all the way to large retailers such as Target, Kroger, Fred Meyer and Amazon.com in their Natural Foods Section.
Straw Propeller is now private labeling for large retailers but continues to give the personal touch to their hand-mixed gourmet oatmeal and muesli cups.
“The growth has been evolutionary and revolutionary at the same time,” said Vice President of Business Development Julie Leutschaft.
“We continue to see a spike in sales in our product line and international trade distribution. Our products are carried in Japan, China, Kuwait, UAE, Guam, Canada and Turks Caicos. We are also coming up with new product lines including packaging, accessories for active families, and new & interesting flavors which we will release this fall.”
