Stand up paddle boarding and river float tubing is now open. From this location on the banks of the Deschutes River in Bend’s Old Mill District, Sun Country Tours offers stand up paddle boarding lessons and rentals, as well as river float tube rentals.
The hours of the Riverbend Park rental kiosk are from 10am to 5:30pm daily through Labor Day. Shuttle service from Drake Park back to Riverbend Park will be offered on a prearranged basis until mid-June, with shuttle tickets available for sale at the Riverbend
Park rental kiosk. Full-time shuttle service will begin in mid-June (exact details to follow).
“We are so proud to partner with Bend Parks and Recreation District, and help both residents and tourists play on the beautiful Deschutes River,” said Sun Country Tours Owner Dennis Oliphant, who established his river outfitting company in 1978. “We are
gratified to know we help build appreciation for our natural environment with people of all ages, as well as give them opportunities to bond as friends and family while recreating outdoors.”
Sun Country Tours offers two-hour stand up paddle boarding (SUP) rentals for $20 and group lessons for $55 per person. Two-hour float tube rentals are offered at $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 12 and younger. Floaters are reminded that the Colorado Dam Safe Passage Project is under construction, requiring a portage around
the bridge and McKay Park.
