Cecilia Barrenechea will be the professional pastry chef and chocolatier for Hot Lava Bakery.
“I went to Culinary School in Uruguay, where I obtained my master’s degree in pastry for shops, and I also graduated from the professional Chocolatier master program in Buenos Aires, Argentina,” Barrenechea said. “Being a pastry chef was my dream since I was a little kid who started making the Betty Crocker cakes! But in the middle of this journey, I assisted the Business University in Uruguay. And before opening my coffee shop business in Uruguay, I worked in a software company as a PMO for almost ten years.
“My plan for this bakery is to make it feel more fresh — keeping the signature pastries it has, but adding new recipes from Uruguay and Argentina with dulce de leche like alfajores, and desserts with meringue, and also European pastries. Pies and mini cakes with Lemon curd, fresh fruit and vanilla bean custard, creme brulee, etc. Also, we would like to add a healthy line, with parfaits, fresh fruits, fresh smoothies, avocado toast, etc.
“You are welcome to come and visit us! Looking forward to starting to meet our beautiful community!”
