Community support needed for chance to win $10,000 ASPCA grant and save more horses. Equine Outreach Horse Rescue will be taking part in the national celebration of ASPCA Help a Horse Day on April 26 and competing for a chance to win up to $10,000 in grant prizes to assist with their efforts to protect horses.

To celebrate a day to GET HORSE SMART! EOI will be presenting a variety of fun and educational activities for the entire family: food, drinks, live music, Vet in a Box, craft and bake sales, used tack sale, opportunity drawing, horse training demonstrations, children’s activities.

Meet Chai, the Rescue Revolution wonder horse. Pay respects to Secretariat’s granddaughter. Visit some other rescues. Learn about the various issues impacting the well-being of these noble creatures.

This nationwide competition is for equine rescues and sanctuaries to raise awareness about the lifesaving work they do year-round to care for at-risk horses in their community that have been abused or neglected.

Horses have been central to the ASPCA’s work since its founding 149 years ago, when Henry Bergh stopped a cart driver from beating his horse, resulting in the first successful arrest for the mistreatment of a horse on April 26, 1866.
