The Central Oregon Locavore invite you to participate with Central Oregon Locavore in honoring the farmers and ranchers of Central Oregon and welcoming a new era of agriculture in the area.
Friday October 14 will be the second annual Faces of Farming gala and silent auction. This event was created to both honor ranchers and farmers of the past as well as welcome and celebrate those up-and-coming.
This will be an evening of artful and delicious surprise, designed to honor our food growers—past, present and future. This event will include original artwork, a silent auction, local wine and beer, and small plates galore showcasing the bounty of local farms and ranches. The menu will be designed and prepared by Cascade Culinary Institute’s Elevation Restaurant on the Central Oregon Community College Campus.
Join Central Oregon Locavore as they thoughtfully curate Faces of Farming artworks and experiences— original silent auction packages designed to inspire its members and guests to support the local food movement and the programs of Central Oregon Locavore.
“We believe in the power of the land and the people who cultivate it for our health and well-being,” says Megan French, Central Oregon Locavore assistant director.
“At Central Oregon Locavore, we know that the future of farming and local food will depend upon the support of local farms and the coming generation of growers and eaters. By providing our young people, and ourselves, with an understanding of where we have been, where we are now and a vision of what is possible, we lay the groundwork for a strong local, sustainable food economy. Faces of Farming connects those passionate about our land and good healthy food, cultivates strong relationships and celebrates the potential in all of us.”
